Can a tv set be political?

I’m starting to wonder. I have a slight addiction to tv news, in particular, cable news. I go back and forth between stations in a frantic effort to save the world. My theory? I never watched news until 9/11 … I haven’t stopped since and there have been no more terrorist attacks here. Yes, it is a huge responsibility, but one I’m willing to accept.

Anyway, I like Fox News. I am pretty conservative but, to be perfectly honest, I love Brit Hume and his twitchy eyes and little Shep Smith just seems like someone who would be fun to carry around in your coat pocket so you could pull him out to scare strangers with his raspy voice. How cool would it be to have a little tiny reporter standing on the palm of your hand? If I had a dart gun, I’d shoot it at Sean Hannity — poor Alan Colmes. I go back and forth mostly between Fox/CNN/BBC. So. . . the freaky thing is, I can always get CNN and BBC. If I want to get FOX, I have to stop, reset and test our satellite (we have Direct TV) anytime I want to get my dose of “fair and balanced” news . We do not have to do this with any other channel EVER. Isn’t that weird? Do you think Tanya Memme (the scary DTV commercial lady – not sure why I know her name) is behind it all? Does she not realize that I’m watching in the interest of national security? And, I have no idea who the guy in the picture is, I just thought it was a funny picture. He’d make a great yard gnome. No one would think to look for a spare house key under his furry little feet, would they?
