A little help?

Mike was admitted to the hospital last night.  This morning we learned he has a significant tear in his esophagus – we’re not sure what it is from, maybe from the cough he caught from me and the kids? The GI patched it and they’re trying to keep Mike as still as possible to see if it will heal.  In the meantime, he’s begun running a high fever.
This is not as bad as it was back in 2004 – that was truly life and death.  I’m not sure what this is.  My dad came to the hospital this afternoon, told me I looked worse than Mike and to go home and sleep.  I’ve slept and I’m heading back to the hospital.
Please keep Mike in your prayers and good thoughts that this patch thingie works and that the fever goes away quickly with no big infections.  I’ll keep you updated when I can.

  1. So sorry, Amy! Praying for quick healing and relief from suffering and skill and wisdom for the docs, nurses, etc.

  2. My goodness Amy. Anything I can do to help…I am free Monday until 2 and Wednesday until 1, Thursday and Friday until 2. Please email me if there is anything I can physically do for you. The praying is a given.

  3. Oh my goodness. I well remember that long stay in the hospital years ago. How encouraging that the doctors don't think this is as serious. We will definitely be praying for Mike and your whole family.

  4. I'm with Deana. Hoping for non-eventful, boring, quick healing and home again with a soft diet kind of week for you. You're all in our thoughts and prayers.
