For the past eight years I have spent November writing a 50,000+ word novel during the NaNoWriMo challenge.
I’ve finished six challenges. But I’ve done nothing with these novels. I’ve done nothing with my writing at all. No excuses, I just haven’t.
I’m debating whether to try this year’s challenge or not. It’s fun. There is something incredibly freeing about writing a terrible novel in an impossibly short amount of time . . .
But . . . I dunno. This year I feel incredibly blah. I have no ideas for a novel. When I first started doing the Nano thing I was older than most other participants. Now? I’m a fossil. Maybe I need the challenge to kick start me? Maybe I need to move on and do something different?
What would you do?
