The End of an Era

It’s time. The end of My Foil Hat is near. I’m starting a new writing/blog-blog. I’ve known it was coming. Last night, it was confirmed. My favorite article of clothing for writing, painting, crafting, sewing, and simply breathing bit the dust.

:::a moment of silence please:::

The best pair of overalls !ever! has passed the point of repair. I know it sounds silly. It IS silly. But, I’m sad. Those overalls have been my go-to outfit – Imagine! they go with any color t-shirt! – for the past seven years. (Really, ask my neighbors.) The paint, the creases, everything about them has a story. (Added bonus, you never had to wear a bra with them.)

Sure, I could get new overalls, but that seems disloyal. And, maybe the time for overalls is past. Maybe. What could be considered a writer’s uniform?

Mike said he would find a nice place in the back yard for my overalls when I am ready. For now, I have them hanging on the side of my desk. They match everything in the house. For now, I’m going to call them art and let them hang.

I’ll still be posting here, but less frequently. You can check in with me on the new website didisaythat.wordpress.com. I will be posting there more and more on day-to-day stuff.

Same weird, less kids, new site.

  1. I'm sort of sorry to hear that, even if I understand that at some overalls get too “dissolved” or beyond repair, but luckily I have so many overalls from thrift-stores, some less worn out than others, so I expect to live in my overalls in the rest of my life and I'm only 65 ๐Ÿ™‚ now I have lived in them more or less all the time since 2001, and they are so great for me, so there is no alternative, but have a nice hunt for something else, if it is possible ๐Ÿ™‚ I'm not a fundamentalist, greetings from the farmhouse in Denmark

  2. Hi Niels! It's so good to hear from you. I miss the overalls – I have picked up a couple of new pairs at thrift stores, so far, not as good as my last pair, but I'm sure something is out there. Amy
