cropped-a3de5-typewriter-bmp.jpgTo write or not to write a novel this November? I think I have actually finished the Nanowrimo challenge seven out of the nine times I’ve started it. Nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month. The challenge is to write at least a 50,000 word novella between November 1 and November 30. If you’ve always thought you wanted to write book, this is a fun way to get started.

I am still debating if it’s something I want to do this year. I think I do. Of course, I have no clue what to write about. That’s where you come in . . . I need a “working title” to get me going. It can be anything from one word to a full sentence. What pops into your mind? I’m tired of what’s in my mind.

Added incentive? Winning title gets two bars of soap – their choice. Thanks in advance!

  1. Did you get one? A title is what I use to get me started down the path to a story, because I know (even if I create hundreds of them) that they are a reflection of what I’m thinking about anyway. So, for me: Sunset over the desert ocean; Tin-panning in Taipan gully; Snake Alley; (my most recent novel) Equine Neophyte of the Blood Desert; The Garden of Souls (another short story); and so it goes. Try writing ten, then another ten, then another. See which ones really turn on the passion switch. They’re the ones most likely to get you past the post.
